How accurately can you determine the identity of a space by the sounds in it?

The 'corporate acoustic':
reflective surfaces and lofty ceilings,
hard-soled dress shoes click across polished marble floors,
the delicate 'dingding' of elevator bells surrounded by an eery silence
(the burden of heavy finance?),

distant whir and grind of an escalator,
heavy doors opening and closing,
a coffee shop radio and a cash register.
